Agender: adj used to describe someone whose does not identify with any gender
Allo: used followed by romantic or sexual to describe someone who does experience romatic/sexual attraction and is not on the aromantic or asexual spectrum
Aromantic: adj used to describe someone who experiences little to no romantic attraction, often used as an umbrella term for anyone on the aromantic spectrum, commonly shortened to ‘aro’
Asexual: adj used to describe someone who experiences little to no sexual attraction, often used as an umbrella term for anyone on the asexual spectrum, commonly shortoned to ‘ace’
Aspec: adj used to describe someone who is on the asexual/romantic spectrum, umbrella term
Bisexual/romantic: adj used to describe someone who experiences sexual/romantic attraction to 2 (or more!) genders, the genders of attraction may vary from person-to-person and don’t always fall within the gender binary, often used as an umbrella term for anyone who is attracted to multiple genders
Cisgender: adj unsed to describe someone who identifies with the gender and sex that they were assigned at birth, commonly shortened to ‘cis’
Cishet: adj used to describe someone who is both cisgender, heterosexual, and heteroromantic
Heteronormative: adj used to describe a society where heterosexual is considered the default or ‘normal’ sexuality
Intersex: adj or noun used to describe someone who has a combination of male and female chromosomes, hormones, internal or external reproductive organs, and/or sexual characteristics, often used as an umbrella term for anyone on the intersex spectrum/who doesn’t completely fit with the binary sexes
Nonbinary: adj used to describe someone whose gender identity does not follow the binary, they may identify as a combo of man and woman, somewhere in between, or neither, often used as an umbrella term that encompasses many gender identities
Pansexual/romantic: adj used to describe someone who experiences sexual/romantic attraction to all genders or regardless of gender
Queer: adj used to describe someone who does not identify as cishet, often used as an umbrella term that encompasses all LGBTQ+ identities, this word has historically been a slur, and you may hear it used by panelists today who have chosen to reclaim it or identify with it; however, because of its history, non-LGBTQ+ people are unable to reclaim it and should avoid using it and LGBTQ+ people should exercise caution when using it due to varying levels of comfort with the word within the LGBTQ+ community
